In the last week of January I photograph dog sledding, do some pottery, ponder food as a means of communication and have my first semla.
Does my soul belong in this modern world?
The power goes out and it’s so quiet. An hour later it’s back, and so is the constant hum that has become the soundtrack of our lives. I sigh.
What I want to have close to my body
The weather makes me tired and I am on my period. My skin feels sensitive and this week is all about warmth & comfort. Organic merino wool is exactly what I want close to my body right now.
My kimono smells like waffles
Luci woke me up at 04:44. at 05:19 the neighbours dog started barking loudly. Then a car drove past outside. At 05:54 I give up and get up. Put on coffee . Bathroom. Splash my face. For some reason my kimono smells like waffles
Monday and back to routines
Monday morning. Luci wakes me up around five. At 05:23 I let her out after she scratches the door. I can’t fall back asleep and get up a little before six. I turn on the coffee, drink some orange juice and light a candle. The holidays are over and today we go back to work, back to routines.
The world is a greyscale
The world is a greyscale, even though many push for everything being black and white. Our lives are nuanced, we can be fine and not at the same time. In fact, most of us are.
I moved on months ago
It the last, quiet morning of the year as I sip on my coffee and reflect on the fact that I moved on months ago.
Partial dreads and morning coffee
Luci woke me up at 05:20. I have morning coffee with the news and spend most of my day doing pottery.
I wipe the coffee with my sock
My suitcase from a trip I did a month ago is still on the bedroom floor. Dust bunnies are swirling under the bed, dancing to the tune of my neglect. The kitchen floors need a scrubbing yet when coffee escape over the edges of my cup, I wipe it with my sock.

I am ducking under trees and treading on soft moss. Movin freely with the OM-5 on my shoulder as I forage for mushrooms.
