Daydreaming of sun and blossoms

A small glimpse of spring, a few moments of warm sun on my face… And gosh do I want more now. I’ve spent some time today looking at places on Airbnb down south, where it’s warmer. After this winter I am desperate for some sun and warmth sooner than spring will arrive here. The curse of living in the north I suppose. I do also feel the need for me and my camera to explore all that comes with spring: nature in bloom, buzzing insects and golden sunsets. By the time I get to do that here… Well that feels too far away for me and what I can handle.

Last year I went to Cadaqués in Spain together with some colleagues from OM System to create summer content and I had a blast. As I look back at those images now, they really awaken the wanderlust within me, as well as the surge and inspiration to be outside with my camera. At least until I actually look out the window. It snowed again today. I might need to go on a work trip?

I imagine myself staying at a simple apartment or cabin somewhere further south where it’s warm and close to nature. I would get up early and wander through some small town, grabbing breakfast along the way – unless I’ve enjoyed it on a small balcony or patio where I would be staying. I would explore parks, a local forest or the seaside. Backpack with everything I’d need for a day and my camera on my shoulder. Capture sunset in different locations each evening and enjoy the local food and culture. Taking hundreds of photos each day, (and some videos) to use for work.

It’s a lot of fun to work with colleagues, but I could just as easily travel away on my own. What do you dream of right now?
